MC Donald ‘Community Football’ Days

McDonald’s ‘Community Football’ Days managed by Leo Burnett’s London office are family open days hosted by Grassroots football clubs.

 

McDonald’s supports these events though supplying inflatable and experiential activities, celebrity football ambassadors, help with event planning and branding. In 2016, 65,000 people attended over 100 CFDs across the UK.
The challenge that our friends from Leo Burnett faced was that McDonald’s experiential offering has remained consistent for the past 2 years. There was an overall need to enhance consumers experience at CFDs in 2017 and to ensure that families have a positive, fun experience at the events.

Goal

Enhancing an existing activity with the consideration to include image capture facilities within the experiential activity during 12 showcase events over the summer 2017…

Solution

The main items of the experiential activity included – Inflatable shoot outs, Inflatable pitch & Celebration Knee Sliders… the choice was obvious – capturing Knee Sliders, but in Slo-Mo.

Custom built Slo-Mo Camera, connected to an InstaServ platform to allow us to provide

– Image Capture Technology on site

– Images automatically available to be shared with consumers via email and/or sms

– Images to be available for McDonald’s use on their website
