EFL World Map
In Summer 2017, M&C Saatchi Agency and the English Football League were launching iFollow, a new digital platform targeted to Overseas fans allowing them to stream games through the whole season.
EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey said: “iFollow will also present the EFL with an important opportunity to stimulate the interest of new groups of supporters who follow our clubs overseas, which in turn will help support the growth of our competitions on the international stage.”
Working together with an agency and EFL, we developed a concept allowing to engage fans globally to support launch globally and amplify the message on social media, with Twitter being the main focus.
The centre of the development was an interactive world map allowing fans to add and choose their supporting teams, add their photos and share them on Facebook and Twitter with overlaid iFollow branding and support message for their club.
A competitive element was added ranking each club on a number of fans who supported it through the map, additionally incentivised by a 1 month membership of giveaways.
